News - Junior Section
The 2026/27 season starts on 6 September 2026. Most age groups will start training during summer - please contact the relevant age group manager for further details on how to join (see further below).

Training Times for Minis, Juniors and Girls-Sonics
Minis train and play matches between 10:00am and 12:00am on Sundays. A number of teams also run training sessions on Tuesdays (Juniors), Wednesdays (Minis), and Thursdays (Girls-Sonics).

Minis
The Minis run from U7's to U12's starting with tag rugby and gradually progressing through the age groups. Basic contact starts at U9 level with it progressing to full contact by the time they reach U12's. The club follows the staged progression incorporated within the RFU Age Grade Rugby. The Minis play a number of friendly matches throughout the season and compete in a number of festivals. Each age group runs up to three teams giving children of all abilities the chance to play at a level that suits their skill and experience.

Junior boys and girls
The Juniors run from U13's to U18 Colt's. From U14s, rugby is the full 15 a side and played on full sized pitches. All age groups run teams which compete in the Herts and Middlesex rugby leagues.

Junior Girls Sonics have four grades; U11 & U12, U13 & U14, U15 & U16, U17 & U18. The Sonics train and play matches on Sunday afternoons.

Many of our boys and girls are selected to trial and play age grade County rugby in both Hertford and Middlesex, and many are selected from there to train and play in higher regional and national age groups.

Many of our players are also selected to play Academy rugby and the club has close affiliations with a number of such organisations including links into the Saracens Professional side. We have a number of players playing in the Saracens age grade Elite Professional Development Groups and others who have progressed on to the Full Saracens Academy and are now playing professional rugby.

Each Age Group has its own Parent Manager and a Head Coach who will be RFU qualified. In addition each age group will have a number of other coaches most of them qualified, and a number of assistants as well as first aiders.

All coaches, managers, first aiders and assistants are DBS checked and will complete the RFU Child Safety Course. Each age group will normally have a minimum of two fully qualified first aiders.

Registration of players
All players must be registered with the club who then register them with the RFU before they can train or take part in matches. The registration fee is currently £240 per annum for the first child and £99 for siblings. Registration gives membership to the club for the player and his family for the year and also covers insuring the player though the Clubs RFU Insurance policy.
