Saracens hosted Uxbridge in the third place play off and ran out comfortable winners after an outstanding first half performance.

On a miserable, and increasingly cold, Saturday morning Captain Dom 'For God's Sake When Will I Win A Toss?' Smart again lost the toss and Saracens found themselves playing against a stiff breeze. However, this was not going to prevent the best half of rugby from Saracens Amateurs Mens this season.

Finally Saracens were able to take full advantage of their expansive home pitch and fully exploit the gaps in the Uxbridge defence, right from the first whistle. Outstanding work from the entire pack, constantly put Uxbridge on the back foot. Great work rate from Sam 'Sub Five Minutes Bottle Of Port' Kelly, Tom 'Best Ever Hagrid' Jeffery and Adam 'Where's My Precious?' Peters ensured that the backs could take the ball going forward.

The first try came from a lovely line break from Jamie 'I'm Running Out Of Excuses For Being Late' Connolly. This was followed by another great line break from Rob 'Robocop' Eston.

The pressure from the Saracens pack kept the Uxbridge team from mounting any sort of attack, combined with set piece dominance kept plenty of ball flowing to the Saracens backs. The third try came from Dom 'One Leg' Smart, who just managed to outpace the Uxbridge cover, following a lovely snipe from Max 'Bonjour' French.

Further tries from Rob 'Too Chunky For Fullback' Eston, and following a great demonstration of pace, Jack 'Finally Found My Song' Goldberg and Michael 'Where are my boots?' Scrace. The extras were added, and this resulted in half time score being 38-0.

The second half saw Uxbridge rally together, and capitalise on errors made as Saracens tried, on some occasions, to be too ambitious. Saracens did score in the second half through a 70m interception try from Dom 'Read It Like A Kids Book But Really Doesn't Fancy The Run In' Smart.

Overall, an excellent performance which keeps the team in contention for the top spot. It was also pleasing to see the squad ethos in full effect, as players played across two teams today, with both teams being at home.
